GUAP Session: Live Drawing with Kandre Arámide Hassan

Drawing Beyond the Reference

How much of what we need to create do we already carry within us?

In this interactive online drawing session, artist Kandre Arámide Hassan invites participants to explore the relationship between memory, lived experience and imagination. Drawing on their artistic practice and background in social anthropology, Kandre will guide participants through a series of short exercises that explore how sensory memories, cultural knowledge and personal associations can become starting points for abstract drawing.

Working without external visual references, participants will be encouraged to trust what they remember, experiment with translating fragments of experience into visual forms, and discover how these fragments can transform into something entirely new.

Through guided exercises and reflection, the session offers an opportunity to loosen expectations around drawing, embrace experimentation and explore the creative possibilities of what we already carry within us.

No prior drawing experience is needed, and participants are welcome…
