Girl Guiding

Earlier this year, ourppls worked with Girl Guiding to programme and produce an International Women’s Day School Event for 120 secondary school students across London.

Girl Guiding’s mission is to empower girls through fun, friendship, outdoor adventures, and skill-building activities so they can find their voice and make a difference.

From location finding to programme curation and talent sourcing, ourppls kept Girl Guiding’s values and aims at the centre. Workshops included Mindful Movement, Hair Sculpting, a Dare to Debate Session, Curve Catwalk,  and a hands-on Grow and Harvest workshop.

As a result, ourppls produced a jam-packed, fun day out in nature that inspired the following feedback:

“I want to say a HUGE thank you to ourppls for your work, dedication, commitment and most of all, patience for riding through this process and project with us. My team have been so complimentary of the event; my director called it a ‘huge success', the teachers were so impressed, and the girls, most importantly, are still talking about it and asking for another one

The event was gold; it gave our girls the opportunity to meet other people, see what you could do and where you could go in life. Because they don’t always get that in school; they only see teachers. The panel and the speed mentoring were amazing for the girls to get information and learn about new fields. And for the girls to see a female-led event, especially for a school where girls are the minority, it was really important, because you don’t always see women in charge or leading things. They know they are out there, but they don’t see it. And they did at this event”
