Approach

Girls deserve opportunities to explore who they are, discover what they could become and see themselves reflected in positions of leadership. Yet, for many young people, exposure to different careers, creative disciplines and female role models can be limited by their everyday environments. How can we create experiences that expand their horizons and empower them to imagine new possibilities for their futures?

Girlguiding is the UK’s largest youth organisation dedicated to girls and young women aged 4–18, helping them build confidence, develop skills and find their voices through friendship, adventure and shared experiences.

In March 2026, ourppls partnered with Girlguiding to programme and produce an International Women’s Day event for 120 secondary school students from across London. With Girlguiding’s values at the heart of the experience, we designed a programme that encouraged girls to experiment, express themselves, challenge perspectives and explore new possibilities beyond the classroom.

From venue sourcing and programme curation to talent sourcing and production, we delivered a varied, hands-on experience rooted in creativity, wellbeing and self-expression. Activities included Mindful Movement in a Greenhouse, Hair Sculpting with Flowers, a Dare to Debate session, Curve Catwalk and a Grow and Harvest workshop.

The programme was designed to do more than inspire. By bringing girls into contact with new disciplines, female-led experiences and diverse perspectives, we created opportunities for them to build connections, develop confidence and encounter possibilities they might not otherwise experience in school.

The Impact

The event brought together 120 students across London for a day of discovery, connection and inspiration. For schools where girls are in the minority, the visibility of women leading, facilitating and shaping the experience was particularly powerful. Through the panel discussion and speed mentoring, students engaged with new perspectives and saw female leadership in action.

By combining creative exploration with meaningful representation, ourppls and Girlguiding created an experience that encouraged girls to think beyond the boundaries of their immediate environment and imagine what might be possible for their futures.

Client Feedback

“I want to say a HUGE thank you to ourppls for your work, dedication, commitment and most of all, patience for riding through this process and project with us. My team have been so complimentary of the event; my director called it a ‘huge success', the teachers were so impressed, and the girls, most importantly, are still talking about it and asking for another one

The event was gold; it gave our girls the opportunity to meet other people, see what you could do and where you could go in life. Because they don’t always get that in school; they only see teachers. The panel and the speed mentoring were amazing for the girls to get information and learn about new fields. And for the girls to see a female-led event, especially for a school where girls are the minority, it was really important, because you don’t always see women in charge or leading things. They know they are out there, but they don’t see it. And they did at this event”
