Creative Leaders Retreat
Review & Reset is a gathering and platform designed for creatives, founders, entrepreneurs and cultural leaders to come together in reflection, conversation and shared growth.
In a landscape that often feels isolating and uncertain, this space centres collaboration over competition - creating room to pause, take stock and move forward with greater clarity and intention.
The afternoon opened with a guided flower arranging session led by Imali, a Kenya-based wellbeing practitioner specialising in shiatsu therapy. This moment created space for guests to release the day, arrive with intention, and ground themselves before entering the conversations that followed.
Report
The conversations that emerged from Review & Reset revealed a creative ecosystem navigating both immense possibility and significant challenges. Through facilitated discussions, participant reflections and collective sense-making, attendees explored the realities shaping creative work in Kenya today; from financial sustainability and transparency to community and cultural identity and the future of creative labour.
This report captures the key insights, observations and recommendations that surfaced throughout the gathering. More than a summary of the event, it serves as a snapshot of the questions, tensions and opportunities currently shaping Kenya’s creative economy and the wider East African cultural landscape. It reflects the lived experiences of creatives, founders, entrepreneurs and cultural leaders who are actively building within these ecosystems.
By documenting these conversations, we hope to contribute to a growing body of knowledge that supports more connected, equitable and sustainable creative futures. We invite you to explore the report and reflect on the insights shared.
