This past Saturday, we attended a private, curator-led tour of the Kerry James Marshall exhibition. More than simply a walkthrough of the artworks, we experienced the work through a curatorial lens. His work insists upon the expanse of Black life within the canon of art history, particularly in spaces that have historically excluded them.
